Fisher Street Apartments
The project involved two four-storey buildings with undercroft parking, comprising 112 apartments with a mix of two and three-bedroom units, plus a standalone community centre. During the process, residual asbestos was discovered, leading the client to engage Matthews Architects to develop a scheme for demolishing the existing structure and constructing new buildings.
Matthews Architects identified that the original building's structure limited apartment efficiency, so they initiated a design development process focused on creating more functional and efficient living spaces. This approach highlights their commitment to value management by addressing structural constraints early to improve overall project outcomes.-
