CPR Apartments Townsville
The conversion of the Queensland heritage-listed former Townsville General Hospital into 27 private apartments preserved its iconic 1930s modernist character while updating the six-storey building to meet current compliance standards. The ground floor includes a gym, indoor pool, amenities, and storage and study rooms for residents, with dedicated parking in an adjacent building connected by a covered walkway.
The design addressed residents' specific needs, creating a comfortable living environment with thoughtful spatial planning, privacy, and ease of movement despite heritage constraints. The building's heritage significance and expansive views over The Strand and Cleveland Bay enhance the appeal of this unique residential community.-
