1975. The Beginning.
Barry Matthews and Robin Hodgkison founded the firm on October 31st, 1975, following the closure of Ian Hannaford’s practice, where they had both worked. The practice began in a small room within the current building.
“And they started in our current building, in fact in one room only, and on day one they didn't have any clients, so they bought cans of white paint and started painting the walls, because white's the cheapest colour. They got a pretty good start and began doing residential developments, then branched out into everything very quickly.”
