Pentreath Middle School

Matthews Architects worked closely with St. Peter’s College to develop a design that embodied the School’s developing pedagogy and philosophy of middle schooling. The philosophy of the project was built around the principles of positive psychology developed by Martin Seligman: Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Achievement (PERMA). The project included a substantial new facility as well as the complete refurbishment and integration of an existing heritage listed building.
Innovative structural framing configuration enables large open double height spaces without requiring secondary support columns. Additional upper level classroom able to be accommodated during construction and within current construction programme.
