The Police Association of South Australia commissioned Matthews Architects to reimagine the ground floor of their existing club and office building on Carrington Street in the heart of Adelaide’s Legal Precinct. The

resulting café which punches through the building and onto Carrington Street, enlivens and activates the ground floor of what was a slightly reclusive ground floor arrangement. The Café is bright and warm, it creates a

buzz on the street, opens up the club’s dining area to the street and exposes a new range of clientele to the Police Club and its offerings.
